Paprika’s natural food coloring is dark orange, extracted from sweet pepper (Paprika). This color is a natural additive and it is known as E160c code. Orange paprika color is often extracted as Oleoresin, and it is fat-soluble. By adding Polysorbate it can also be water-soluble. Paprika is extracted from dry paprika powder with proper solvent (Hexane). Paprika creates orange to tomato red shades in oil systems. The intensity of the color depends on the variate of used pepper, method of storage and washing, and the method of extraction.
